This work was first exhibited in a group exhibition at Rm 401 in Auckland New Zealand 1999. The other artists included in this exhibition where Torben Tilly, Emma Bugden and Michael Morley.

An inverted ghost, what I call a "black Casper" encounters for the first time, a member of the human race, amusing themselves with vigorous exercise on the coast of Normandy, France.

Even though these beings both exist in the same universe, they could never really know each other. One is made of flesh, the other one, the 'black Casper' is a cascade of mathematical calculations, a kind of undulating loom of numbers making an appearance in the world. Both as concrete as each other they are still   living completely in the dark.
